Some people are given their Reiki lineage details by their Reiki master, but sometimes these can be incomplete or confused. Others were not given any details and were not aware of the importance of asking for them. Knowing your lineage has become more important recently because it is a required part of the Reiki National Occupational Standards (NOS) and therefore required for verification and registration for professional practice in partnership with Reiki Council, and for registration with the CNHC.
The Lineage Tracing Service therefore serves two purposes, firstly to verify Reiki lineage for those who wish to apply for verification as a practitioner, and secondly to help people trace a lineage when its not known or there is a question about it’s accuracy.
Some people may find that knowing their Reiki lineage increases their sense of connection, and this can be a very deep spiritual experience. To know your lineage is to feel part of what has gone before. It provides a solid base for your Reiki practice and gives you a connection to the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui.
Our service to help trace lineages is available to TRA members for £20, and non-members for £30.

Reiki Master Ann Scullard who provides the service says:
"I have always known there was a possibility of an Italian connection in my family history, so this is where my enthusiasm for tracing lineages and backgrounds started a long time ago. My diligence over the years and the recent access of information resulted in me finally tracing and connecting with the Italian link. It was both an emotional and healing experience.
Next, travelling in BC Canada recently I was able to touch base, so to speak, with my Reiki family and feel the strength of connection through Anneli and Wanja Twan, Hawayo Takata, Chujiro Hayashi and Mikao Usui, a very deep and spiritual experience. When I was approached a while ago to assist members in tracking their lineage I was happy to help the Association.
There are others around the world who are interested and some studying Reiki lineage; Jojan Jonker in the Netherlands, Robert Fueston in the USA and Dori Beeler in the UK. All are fascinated by the history of Reiki and all the many variations that have developed over the years.
Please feel that you can make contact with your queries and I will do my best to help and I enjoy my role as the Reiki detective".
