What can Reiki be used for? As well as being used to help treat ailments such as headaches and insomnia, Reiki is increasingly being woven into patient treatment plans alongside allopathic medical practices. It is used to help with a variety of disorders from anxiety and depression to asthma and high blood pressure. Reiki can also be used to assist in the treatment of a number of more serious conditions or to reduce the side effects of medications and treatments and many forward thinking doctors agree that treating the mind, body and spirit as a 'WHOLE' will help release tension and promote a sense of balance and well being.

Stress can affect all aspects of our lives including our emotions, behaviour, thinking ability and physical health. Try to remember that what causes your personal stress depends on your perception of it, so something that is stressful to you may not be to someone else - it doesn't matter, the result is the same. Try to be gentle on yourself !

How does Reiki work?  Your body's way of responding to your thoughts and the world around you is to make the physical, mental or emotional changes to adapt. This can cause stress, chronic pain, injuries or disease. Unreleased stress is stored in the fibres of your organs, muscles and connective tissue blocking the flow of energy through your body. During a Reiki session, muscles are relaxed and the energy flow unblocked helping to reduce tension and pain and restoring balance to mind body and soul.

At it's heart Reiki is very simple, all things are made up of energy and Reiki is a system of natural healing utilising this energy to nourish the body and spirit and to maintain balance. Everything in our universe is made up of energy and if we can find a way of using that energy to create strength and harmony within ourselves our lives become a much healthier, happier place to be.
