‘Resilience in Healthcare – coping with clients with chronic or life limiting conditions’

The Focus of our CPD Event this year is around Resilience in Healthcare. Helping your clients who may be suffering from life limiting conditions, and also looking after you as a therapist. We have some truly inspirational speakers, including our key note speakers presenting in the morning:

Dr Catherine Zollman – Medical Director at Penny Brohn UK (formerly Bristol Cancer Help Centre), talking on Realistic Hope – Finding a resilient response in the face of chronic or life-limiting illness

Dr David Peters - Professor Emeritus, Westminster Centre for Resilience, University of Westminster – Discussing Resilience and the Healthcare Juggling Act

This year we also have in the afternoon session:

Julie Stone PhD – (Author, Ethicist, Yoga Teacher and Performance Artist)– Dark Humour for Dark Times – the role of humour in difficult situations

Robert Verkerk PhD – Founder & Executive Director, Alliance for Natural Health International – The ‘Ecological Terrain’ : a model for assessing whole system health

David Balen and Robert Verkerk giving an update on progress with the Health App, for a big data research project.

The fee for the Conference, is £30.50, inclusive of refreshments, attendance certificate for 6 hours learning with others, speaker notes and free entry into the Holistic Health Show should you choose. We will not pass your details to Holistic Health, without your express consent, so to obtain your free tickets, please confirm that you wish to attend the show.

In addition you can order a sandwich bag lunch for £11.00, inclusive of sandwich, fruit and a drink (supplied by NEC caterers and served in the Holistic Health Show. Some dietary requirements can be catered for).

As previously our CPD event will be supported by Balens and our Insurance partners, this has enabled us to keep the costs for the event down.

Timings: Access from 09:15 CPD Event 09:45 – 17:00 Lunch – 12:45 – 14:00 Holistic Health Show open 10:00 – 17:00

Refreshments: Morning & Afternoon Tea/Coffee included in above price. Optional sandwich bag lunch available at additional £11.00 per person.

Filming: As in previous years, the event will be filmed, with recordings of all lectures available on our website after the event. If you do not wish to be recorded, we request that you please sit in a location out of camera shot and make your views known to the film crew.

Travel: By Car – Excellent motorway access, with ample parking available for which there is a charge.
